The most important event of the UIT is the National Heat Transfer Conference. The first Conference was organized in Trieste in 1983, and then the Conference was held on a regular basis every year, typically the third week of June.
The UIT Conference is the place where most of the UIT members meet every year discussing their latest research and common project of research.
Typical sessions at the Conference are: computational heat transfer, single-phase heat transfer, two-phase heat transfer, heat transfer in nuclear reactors, energy plant and environmental systems, heat transfer in food processing.
On average, considering the recent Conferences, about 85 papers are presented in poster session (plus 2-4 keynote lectures from outstanding international and national speakers) and about 110-120 registrants attend the Conference.
The general Assembly of UIT members is held every year on the occasion of the UIT Conference.
Some Conferences have been organized jointly with important international events, such as:
-
1996: 14th UIT National Heat Transfer Conference and 2nd EUROTHERM European Thermal Sciences Conference, Rome, 29-31 May 1996
-
2004: 22nd UIT National Heat Transfer Conference, followed by the European Two-Phase Flow Group Meeting, Genova, 21-23 June 2004
-
2005: 23rd UIT National Heat Transfer Conference and EUROTHERM Seminar 72 on Heat and Mass Transfer in Food Processing , Parma, 20-22 June 2005
-
2010: ASME - ATI - UIT Conference on Thermal and Enviromental Issues in Energy Systems, Sorrento 16-19 May 2010
-
2015: ASME -ATI - UIT Conference on Thermal Energy Systems: Production, Storage, Utilization and the Environment, Napoli, May 17 – 20, 2015
